This miniature suburb at P.S.1 is a rolling landscape of grassy pads and wading pools, punctuated by a field of small structures. As a model for a new kind of suburb, the project proposes experimental uses of common materials and sharply contrasting areas of seclusion and collective interaction. Synthetic turf is used in ways that living grass cannot be—as upholstery on vertical surfaces, as an underwater pool lining, and as a multicolored lawn.
