American Framing, the U.S. Pavilion exhibition at the 2021 Venice Biennale, presented softwood framing, the most common type of construction in the United States. Paul Andersen and Paul Preissner designed and curated the exhibition, which included a four story open frame addition to the original pavilion building, commissioned furniture and photographs, and a history of wood framing told through a collection of scale models.
